Wizart Desktop - special standalone software that hanging at Windows System Tray, and can download and upload all files you need on our FTP server. When download is finished, it can make system tray notifications, on download success or failure.
Download Files
1. Start Wizart Desktop from desktop shortcut Start=>Wizart Animation => Wizart Desktop OR manually via path if you have default installation
C:/Program Files (x86)/Wizart Animation/wizart_desktop/wizart_desktop.exe
2. At Actions Tab enter login and password that supervising animator gave you earlier.
3. Specify root folder for your project files, this folder will contain all files you need, so make sure that you have enough disk space.
4. Press download and if login and password entered correctly earlier, you ftp download will start.
5. Wait for completing of download process, usually it takes 10-15 minutes. You can check progress bar and watch download log at Wizart Desktop.
6. When download is completed, you can find your files inside "projects" folder. "work" folder will be used for uploading files back to us.
Select Project
With your project files, you will also download project-specific software config files. Usually they placed in specified folder:
{your_folder}/projects/<project_code>/.config
1. When files downloaded, select menu command Rescan Projects Config, and after that your Appstab must be filled with projects you have access.
2. When you have the files in the project list, you can double-click to go to the project. Wizart Desktop will remember your chosen project for the next run. Next, you will see a list of available programs.
3. In appeared tab you can find Maya icon, at first software install start, gray, inactive icon. You need to tell Wizart Desktop where is Maya installed on your PC. There are two ways of doing that.
4. Click Right Mouse Button on Maya icon and in context menu select Scan for Software, and Wizart Desktop will try to find Maya at default installation path. It could fail on your configuration. In that case, use the way below.
5. Click Right Mouse Button on Maya icon and in context menu select Scan Software Executable Path, and use the showed dialog windows to specify location for maya.exe file.
6. When you find Maya location in any of ways above, icon will be colored and you can now start Maya using double click.
7. Now you can start working in Maya.
| Note that it is ALWAYS necessary to run Maya through Wizart Desktop in order for it to set up the correct environment for loading resources. |
Software Updates
To fix all problems with our software updates and improve your experience, we embedded software updates checking system into Wizart Desktop'.
Its checks on startup and then every half hour. You need internet connection for that.
Also you can forcefully check updates using menu option Check Software Updates.
Upload Files to FTP
We have special working local folder work, that you musted use for exchange files with us. The same folder we have on FTP server, and using Wizart Desktop it syncing/mirroring folder contents between your PC and FTP server.
You can delete files locally, copy files to this folder and that will trigger upload to FTP server.
To make easier visually understand what happening with work folder Wizart Desktop have special are in UI called "Work Area". You can see here work folder contents.
You can drag&drop file to Work Area and that will trigger FTP upload.
Also you can drag&drop multiples files to Work Area.
If you press button Open Folder in Explorer', that will open local work folder in standard Windows Explorer. You can drop files there, and Wizart Desktop watch folder changes and trigger server syncing. You can use this feature for copying files to upload any way you like, e.g. using Total Commander.
If you not sure that files are synced with server, e.g if you switched off Wizart Desktop for a while, you can activate upload if you press Ftp Upload' button.
You can delete files using RMB context menu, or any way you like in local work folder (e.g. using Windows Explorer). Warning! That will delete files on FTP too!
