Uploading Files to FTP

After the status of the uploaded playblast has changed to Approved (which means that the shot is accepted), you need to upload the . ma file with the full name (Episode_XX_Scene_XXX) to FTP.
In order to upload Maya files, you have a special working folder work, exactly the same folder is on the FTP server.
With Wizart Desktop, it is completely duplicated in both directions, you can delete files locally or add them to this folder and they will be uploaded to the FTP server.

Important

Please do not store any other files in the work folder, it is only used for . ma files! You also don't need to create subfolders for episodes or for each scene.

So that you can see what is happening with your FTP folder, Wizart Desktop has a special area called the Work Area. It shows the contents of the work folder.

You can use Drag&Drop to drag a file to the Work Area and it will be uploaded to FTP.

You can also Drag and Drop multiple files at the same time.

If you click the Open Folder in Explorer button, the local work folder will open in the standard Windows Explorer.
You can add files there, Wizart Desktop will monitor the changes in this folder, and activate syncing.
You can use this function to copy files for uploading in any way that is convenient for you, for example, through Total Commander.

If you are not sure that your files were synced, for example, if you turned off Wizart Desktop, then you can manually upload them by clicking Data Sync => Data Sync Upload.

You can always delete files using the context menu, or in any other way from the work folder (for example, through Windows Explorer).

Important

Note that this will also delete the files on FTP !
